WEEKLY ATELIER CLASSES – JANUARY-JUNE 2018

Lalita is accepting applications for ongoing atelier-style classes, which involve a systematic approach to learning the fundamentals of painting in traditional methods.  Through a series of demos, exercises, studies, and completed paintings, participants hone their skills with respect to every element needed to make a painting work.  Participants then apply these foundations to their own work, the manner depending on what each artist would like to achieve and which medium will be used.  Class size is restricted to seven students in order to maintain a high standard of instruction and artistic development.

Dates: Mondays from Jan 16th to June 19th, Tuesdays from Jan 10th to June 20th and/or Wednesdays Jan 11th to June 21st, 2017  *Note: All Atelier classes are FULL; however, people on the waitlist are called if a regular participant cannot attend a class.  It is a great way to get your feet wet, and some ideas of what to practice at home.  Please contact Lalita if you would like to be on the wait list.

“I have learned more about colour and tones in these two sessions than I have ever learned from any other professional artist or class.” – E. Johnston

“Your experience comes through your words.” – F. Sigler

“Lalita’s demo is intense and jam packed full of technical information to propell you into become a skilled painter.  She takes the mystery out of colour theory.”  -T. Stewart

“Lalita has a particular and untenable skill in breaking down the steps she employs to show the process of assembling a complex painting.  Her analysis of the different elements that go into creating an image goes a long way to demystifying pianting for the lay person.  I love the way she has insight in the use of oils, acrylics and watercolur.” – D. Dejong
